Paul C. Merlino, President and CEO of The Lenox National Bank announced that the Bank has been notified by MEC Lenox Associates, owners of the Center at Lenox shopping plaza at 489 Pittsfield-Lenox Road, Lenox, MA, that their plans for a significant redevelopment project involves the demolition of its present Branch location. After exploring options within their new Center at Lenox plans, negotiations with the landlord did not result in an economically feasible, alternative space for a Branch office.
After much discussion and consideration, the Bank’s Board of Directors made the decision to close the Bank’s Branch office located in the Center at Lenox on Saturday, May 29, 2010. The Branch staff will be transferred to the Main office.
Effective June 4, 2010, to accommodate customer needs, the Bank’s 7 Main Street office will expand its lobby hours to 5:00 PM and the drive-up hours to 5:30 PM on Fridays. On Saturday mornings, the lobby and drive-up will both be open from 9:00 AM – 12:00 PM. In addition, the Bank has made significant investments in technology by improving customer access to their accounts with free 24/7 Online Banking and ATM/Debit card services.
The Lenox National Bank will strive for continued profitable growth by providing personal attention to its customer’s financial needs, including local funding and financing to allow individuals and businesses in our area to grow and prosper. The Bank is well capitalized and in an excellent position to serve the banking needs of its community in the years ahead.
